Frequently Asked Questions

Will the various Terralink TDX products run on a Windows Terminal Server?

Terralink TDXDataExchange (transporter version) and TDXEnterprise (designed for TSD Facilities) both run fine on a Windows Terminal Server, but you must make sure to set up your printers correctly to support this. Assuming the remote sites are on a subnet in the main network, remote printers should all be shared on a server local to the terminal server. Use policy groups to automatically assign and install printers to user profiles. Turn off redirected printers, if possible. Make use of printer preferences in TDX to make sure people use the ones defined on your local print server.

The reason for this topology is to make sure TDX does not use redirected printers. The printer path must be static in order to save and associate electronic margins for each form template and its designated printer.

Terralink TDXLite is licensed to a single PC and not to be run on a Windows Terminal Server.
